Iowa Learning Standards A visit to the Galena History Museum would help to fulfill the following Learning Standards.  Standards taken from a nearby Iowa school system's standards   K-12 1.  The student will evaluate the impact of culture and cultural diversity on life in the United States and around the world. 2.  The student will develop an historical perspective and habits of thinking by the examinating and analyzing ideas and events related to the human experience. 3.  The student will be a geographically informed person who can acquire, organize and analyze information about location, place, human migration, human interaction with the environment and regions. 4.  The student will utilize knowledge of individual human development and identity by gaining insight into individual behavior. 5.  The student will explain patterns of interaction between individuals, groups and institutions. 6.  The student will explain how people create and change structures of power, authority and government. 7.  The student will explain how people organize the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. 8.  The student will describe and apply the relationship between science, technology and society. 9.  The student will construct connections between their personal lives and the realities of global interdependence. 10.  The student will apply the ideals, principles and practices of citizenship in a democratic republic.
