The museum's clothing collection is large and diverse. Displays are rotated regularly.

The Galena History Museum is home to a large collection of costumes, textiles and related items from the 1830s to the 1930s. From purses to quilts to wedding dresses, we're always featuring a special display. Currently we have a fashionable exhibit of 19th century dresses.

Also among the items in our collections are the evening cape worn by Mrs. Thomas Nast to U.S. Grant's Presidential inauguration, and a crazy quilt made from scraps of dresses worn by Mrs. Grant while in the White House!
