Hezekiah H. Gear "struck it rich" and became one of Galena's wealthiest citizens.

Our award-winning andio-visual show captures the grand and glorious history of Galena through the use of period photographs, lithographs and paintings. View Galena when she was the largest river port north of St. Louis -- the center of the lead mines -- and the economic and political power of northern Illinois and the old Northwest Territory.

Our show is 16 minutes in length and is shown each hour on the hour. It is one of the best ways to understand why Galena has such a rich heritage of history and architecture.
